I was so saddened to hear of
Wendell's passing. Heaven has
absolutely gained another angel
today. I cannot tell you the
number of stories I was blessed to
hear from Wendell and how much I
learned from those stories. He
told me stories of my grandfather
as a child, sometimes to Grandpa's
chagrin, and about who lived where
when, how when he was a kid, such-
and-such was different and how, and
so on. I loved every minute of
those stories!
I was blessed to witness Wendell's
tireless devotion to both church
and his community--and I don't
believe I have ever witnessed
anybody so supportive of the fire
departments as he was! Even
when he was not as physically able
to serve on them as he once was, I
remember watching him resist the
urge jump up (and run over to the
town hall) in church whenever a
siren would ring; even if he was in
the choir loft! And I honestly
don't ever remember seeing him
without a smile on his face.
The world has lost an amazing
example of sacrificial love and
marital devotion in him. Their
marriage was a beautiful example of
a lifetime of love.
I know Heaven is much more rich
today and we, on Earth, are much
the poorer for Wendell's passing.
But I know that he's singing in
Heaven today and is joyful forever.

Steve, we pray that your family
overcomes the grief of loosing such
a great sounding patriarch. Wendell
did many wonderful things and had
the chance to touch many people.
You are lucky to have had him so
many years yet it sure does hurt
that he is gone. We pray that pain
is bearable.
Sincerely,
George and Aileen Cudoc

When God calls us we must lay
down our burden and answer. Wendell
lived a long and prosperous life.
His legacy surrounds him by their
presence or thoughts. We must
accept God's wisdom even as we are
missing him already.
I lost my 89 year father to
pancreatic cancer in April. I still
miss him very much, but I am
thankful for the 66 years I spent
with him and mom. My sympathy to
the family
